Wye River & Coast
An Exhibition by Allan Wolf-Tasker
In this new exhibition Allan takes inspiration from the ever changing majestic coastline of the Great Ocean Road including the inlets of Wye River, Separation Creek, St. George River to name a few. Although recent in their production – the nature of the paintings is not entirely new. It’s a evolution of the landscape style that was depicted almost 20 years ago with an entirely new perspective.
“The coastline is invigorating, sometimes threatening and you’re forced to adopt a “Seagullist” view of the ancient formations. It continues my obsession with the aerial perspective ... a sort of “out of body” view of the world, be it at a dinner party, a collection of miscellaneous props in a key note location or a mighty meeting of volcanic rock with the imposing Southern Ocean”. Our pop up show in South Melbourne of Allan Wolf-Tasker's paintings was a great success. Thank-you to everyone who contributed - especially Salvatore Malatesta of St. Ali who leant us the space.
Many of the paintings have found new homes. There will be a selection still available to view at Lake House amongst new work from the studio. The next exhibition will be May 2012.
